The Fall Classic

The Lee's Summit Symphony will mark the 200th anniversary of Franz Josef Haydn's death with the performance of Symphony #104.  The concert will also have a Halloween flavor with "The Procession to the Stake" and "A Witches' Sabbath" from Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique, "Funeral March of the Marionettes" by Gounod, "Masquerade Waltz" by Khachaturian, and highlights from "The Phantom of the Opera" featuring Gloria Helmer and Chris Munce.

Holiday Magic

Join the Symphony for one of its most popular performances of the season.  This year, Holiday Magic will feature highlights from "The Sound of Music," Vivaldi's "Gloria", "Christmas at Home Medley" with the Lee's Summit Community Chorus and the Lee's Summit Youth Chorale, "The Skaters' Waltz" featuring dancers from Steppin' Out, plus other holiday favorites and a holiday sing-along.  You won't want to miss this event!

The spring concert will feature Symphony No. 1 in C Minor, Op. 68, by Brahms, L'Italiana in Algeria Overture by Giocchino Rossini, Adagietto from Symphony No. 5 by Gustav Mahler and Russian Easter Overture by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakoff. 

Family Concert
Saturday, May 8, 2010; 7:00 p.m. 
Bernard C. Campbell Performing Arts Center; Lee's Summit High School

With guest artists Bryan Busby and Marvin Gruenbaum.  Also featuring the Lee's Summit R-7 Elementary Honor Choir.  Pre-concert activities including an instrument petting zoo, a make-and-take art activity, book fair, art fair and much more will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the lobby of the performing arts center.  Doors open for seating at 6:30 p.m.

Booms & Blooms
Saturday, July 3, 2010; approximately 7:30 p.m.
Join the Lee's Summit Symphony for the ever-popular patriotic and pops concert at beautiful Powell Gardens followed by a spectacular fireworks display.  Powell Gardens is located just east of Lee's Summit on Highway 50 in Kingsville, Missouri.  More information can be found here.
